Notes and Storylines
Â
» Army has won six consecutive Patriot League Tournament Championships, each time securing the conference's automatic berth to an NCAA Regional. However, for the first time since 2021, the Black Knights will seek a tournament title after not winning the regular season crown. Across Army's six tournament championships, three have come when winning the regular season title ('22, '23, '24) and three have come while not finishing first in the standings, having to win at least one playoff road series ('18, '19, '21).
Â
» The Black Knights have won four consecutive postseason series vs. Navy, with the Mids last knocking Army out of the playoffs in 2011. Army defeated Navy in the 2013 semifinals in Annapolis (2-0), the 2018 finals in Annapolis (2-0), the 2019 finals in Annapolis (2-1) and the 2024 finals at West Point (2-0). The 2013 semifinal series was the last No. 2 vs. No. 3-seed matchup.
Â
In Army's championship-clinching 3-0 win over Navy May 20 a season ago, the Black Knights collected just two hits, both by Chris Barr, who logged each RBI as well.
Â
» Dating back to 2018, Army has won 10 consecutive Patriot League Tournament elimination games.
Â
» Army finished the 2025 regular season with a two-game home sweep over Rider in a series adjusted due to weather. The Black Knights' 7-3 win Friday and 15-6 win Saturday gave the program its seventh full regular season in a row with a winning record.
Â
The Black Knights drew 15 free passes in their Friday win, including eight in the fifth inning alone. Army scored five runs on no hits in the frame. After spotting Rider five runs in the first inning Saturday, Army outscored the road club 15-1 the rest of the way on senior day.
Â
» Army saw four players make the First Team All-Patriot League and two make the Second Team. Two players also were named to the All-Academic Team.
