Men’s Basketball Unveils 2025-26 Nonconference Schedule
September 04, 2025 | Men's Basketball
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point men's basketball revealed its non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday.
Head coach Kevin Kuwik announced the 13-game slate, which features a road trip with women's basketball to St. Thomas (MN), a Veterans Day matchup in Christl Arena against Duke, two games against Ivy League schools, an appearance in the FDU Basketball Classic and a matchup with UMBC in Baltimore.
"I am excited about the challenges this schedule provides for our players and program," Kuwik said. "I am looking forward to working with Team 124 and am eager for the opportunity to build on what we accomplished last year."
Kuwik enters his third season at the helm of the Black Knights, posting a 27-38 record in his first two years at West Point.
Army will look to capture its first Patriot League title, building on a historic 2024-25 season. The Black Knights finished 17-16 overall with a 10-8 Patriot League record, tying the program record for most league wins in a season.
Army advanced to the Patriot League tournament quarterfinals and earned a bid to the Purple College Basketball Invitational, where it defeated Elon for the program's first postseason win in 55 years before falling in the quarterfinal round.
Full 2025-26 ticket information will be available with the release of the Patriot League schedule.
Full Schedule Breakdown:
The Black Knights open the 2025-26 campaign Nov. 3 in Christl Arena against SUNY Maritime, serving as the back half of a season-opening doubleheader.
Army then travels to St. Paul, Minnesota, on Nov. 8 for its first-ever matchup against St. Thomas. Both the men's and women's teams will face the Tommies in the new Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, named after U.S. Military Academy alum and longtime donor Lee Anderson.
"Going out to play St. Thomas as part of opening their new arena will be a great experience for us," Kuwik said. "It will also be a way to express our undying gratitude to Lee and Penny Anderson for all they have done for our program."
On Nov. 11, Veterans Day, Army returns home to host Duke.
The game marks the first time in 28 years — and just the third in program history — that the Black Knights have hosted a Power Five opponent at West Point. The first came against LSU on Dec. 21, 1978, followed by Duke on Nov. 16, 1997.
"Having a national powerhouse like Duke come to Christl Arena and being able to recognize Coach K for the impact he has had on Army basketball is an unbelievably special opportunity," Kuwik said. "It's not just special for our program, but for the entire West Point community."
Army stays home Nov. 15 to face Harvard, then will hit the road for two straight games, traveling to Cornell on Nov. 18 before heading up the Hudson River to Marist on Nov. 21.
On Nov. 25-26, Army will compete in the FDU Basketball Classic in Hackensack, New Jersey. The Black Knights face East Texas A&M before squaring off against host Fairleigh Dickinson the following day.
Following the FDU Classic, Army returns to Christl Arena for three straight home games — Nov. 29 against Manhattan, Dec. 2 against George Washington and Dec. 7 against Gallaudet.
The Black Knights then travel to Baltimore on Dec. 13 to face UMBC in their final non-conference road game.
"I would be remiss if I didn't highlight our trip to UMBC," Kuwik said. "It will allow us to be a part of Army-Navy weekend in Baltimore, something I hope our players will never forget."
Army closes non-conference play Dec. 23 in Christl Arena against Binghamton, which visits West Point for the second straight season.
"This schedule will provide us with some great tests in preparation for Patriot League play," Kuwik said. "Our men have been working hard to get ready for this challenge since last spring, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together."
