Rifle Falls to West Virginia and Navy in Tri-Meet

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Army West Point Rifle finished third in their meet against West Virginia and Navy on Saturday morning. The Black Knights finished with an aggregate score of 4683, excelling in the smallbore discipline with a 2338.
Army's score in the smallbore discipline tied for second best among the three teams and ties a program best for the 2025-26 season. Additionally, it was one under a new program best in the discipline.
Freshman Hannah Dufresne continued her successful campaign earning a new personal best in the smallbore discipline with a 588-38x, topping her 587-27x which she set last time out against North Georgia. The Boerne, Texas native, finished fourth in smallbore and was the highest finisher for the Black Knights on the event. Furthermore, freshman Destin Guest had a career day on the range for Black Knights earning new personal bests in smallbore (555-16x), air rifle (556-20x) and aggregate score (1111-36x).
Sophomore Barbara Forgues was the highest finished in air rifle for the Black Knights. Forgues tied her personal best on the discipline, with a 591-39x).

"It's nice to see some consistency in smallbore", said Head Coach Leighton Dempster. "We will remain focused on air rifle as we prepare for Navy at home next weekend."

The Black Knights will return home for their final home competition before hosting NCAA Qualifiers. Army will face off against familiar foe and rival Navy for the annual Star Series Match Presented by USAA at 9 am on Feb. 7.
