February 23, 2026 | Softball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Army West Point softball's Breanna Izzo received her first Patriot League weekly honor on Monday, being named this week's Pitcher of the Week.
Breanna Izzo earns the award for the first time this season after a strong week at the Texan Classic in Stephenville, Texas. She led the Black Knights' pitching unit, posting a 2-1 record over the week.
Izzo finished the weekend with a 1.62 ERA over 13.0 innings, only allowing seven hits and seven runs, only three of them being earned runs. She also totaled 14 strikeouts the entire weekend.
Her standout performance of the weekend came against Tarleton State on Feb. 21. During that matchup, she posted a no-hitter in Army's 10-0 five-inning run-rule win. It marks her second five-inning complete game no-hitter. In 19 batters faced, she added seven strikeouts.
Breanna Izzo and the Black Knights have a bye week upcoming, then will return to the road for the first weekend of March for the UNCW Tournament.
From March 6-8, Army will head to Wilmington, North Carolina, to play five games, with their opponents including Toledo and UNC Greensboro, who Army will play twice each, plus tournament host, UNC Wilmington.
