February 27, 2026 | Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday in the Boston University Track & Field Tennis Center.
The championship meet is set to get underway on Saturday at 11 a.m. with field events. Track events will begin at 1:30 p.m. Action is expected to come to close around 7:15 p.m. The second day of competition will also begin at 11 a.m. with field events, while track events will start just after noon. ESPN+ will broadcast all track events.
Women's Preview
Last season, Army finished third with a point total of 139.5, which was less than 30 off the winner, BU. The Black Knights had six first-place finishers, which included Emily Fink (shot put), Hannah Andrews (4x800m), Alma Lazo Cazares (4x800m), Skye Chambers (4x800m), Mikayla Cheney (4x800m) and Zoe Whaley (high jump).
Army also claimed second-place finishes with Jordan Hecht (shot put), Zoe Eggleston (pentathlon) and Charlotte Richman (3000m, 5000m).
Coaches Corner – Director of Track and Field Mike Smith
"I expect the meet to be close. It will likely take 165-170 points to win the meet and there are a few teams that can get to that point total. We are one of those teams. We have a good mix of young talent and experienced veterans. We have more scoring opportunities than we have ever had at this meet. Now, we have to convert those opportunities into actual points for us to have a chance."
Men's Preview
The men are looking to get over the hump this season after finishing second last year with 153 points, 70 behind Navy. The men claimed four first place finishes, as Kasen Jeitz (800m), Brian McSweeney (pole vault) and Robby Manse (shot put, weight throw) all dominated their respective event.
The men finished second in the 4x400m and 4x800m. Also recording second-place results was Carlos Posey (long jump), Jonathan Segujja (weight throw) and Bret Wingard (triple jump).
Coaches Corner – Director of Track and Field Mike Smith
"It will take well over 200 points to win a championship this weekend. Only a couple of teams can score that high and we are one of those teams, but we have little room for error. The competitive level of the patriot league meet is at an all-time high and we have contributed to that rise. We will have some very good events that can propel our total. We need to squeeze points out of the events where we are not projected to score well to be on the podium at the end."
