No. 19 Women’s Lacrosse Secures Season Opening Win

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Army West Point women's lacrosse opened the 2026 campaign with a win over the Rutgers Scarlet Kings (0-1) by a score of 19-14. In the win for Army (1-0), senior Lily Valentini had a career day earning a new single game goals and points record with five goals and seven points.

- Rutgers started the game strong scoring the first two goals of the game before senior Brigid Duffy netted the first of the 2026 season for the Black Knights.
- On the Black Knights second goal of the game to make it 4-2 Rutgers, senior Allison Reilly found fellow classmate Lily Valentini in the 8 meter for her 100th career assist.
- The Scarlet Knights took a 5-2 lead into the second quarter, but the Black Knights outscored Rutgers in the second quarter 7-3 to take a 9-8 lead into the second half. To start the second quarter, the Black Knights went on a five-goal run to secure the lead.
- Both Duffy and Valentini earned first half hat tricks, while junior Ryan Remaly scored two goals in the second quarter.
- Coming out of halftime, Army locked it down on defense holding Rutgers to one goal to build a four-goal lead going into the final frame, making it 13-9. In the third quarter, freshman Thais Jackson scored two of the Black Knights three goals to.
