Noah Hensley Named Associate Head Coach of Women's Swimming & Diving

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Director of Swimming and Diving Scott Thacker has announced the hiring of Noah Hensley as associate head coach of women's swimming and diving.
"I knew from the second I saw Scott was hired as the new director of swim and dive that I wanted to be on his staff, and I couldn't be more honored and humbled to be joining the Black Knights. I can't wait to get to work with the incredible cadets to continue their success in and out of the pool! Go Army!" Hensley said.
"Noah's background as an ACC champion and NCAA All-American, paired with his proven history of developing record-breakers and national contenders, makes him an immediate asset to our program. He has consistently driven competitive breakthroughs at every stop in his coaching career, and his energy will be key in helping our student-athletes reach their potential. We are excited to welcome Noah to West Point and look forward to the impact he will make on our team!" Director of Swimming and Diving Scott Thacker said.
Hensley arrives at Army West Point from Highlander Aquatics in Orlando, Fla. There, Hensley worked with all groups ranging in age from 10 to 18. During his time in Orlando, the team enjoyed success at both state and national competitions. The team produced multiple state champions at the Florida Age Group Championships while also placing two girls on the Age Group Zone Team.
At Colorado School of Mines, the team rewrote the record board with 10 program records across both genders during the 2024-25 season. The program sent five athletes to the Division II NCAA Championships, three women and two men. The Mines men's team secured the highest finish at the NCAA Championships since 2011, and the most points scored since 2005.
Before joining Mines, Hensley was associate head coach of the men's and women's swimming and diving teams at Miami University. During his stint at Miami, he helped the student-athletes break 18 program records and six conference records, win 15 individual conference titles and two team titles on the men's side, extending their streak to four.
On the national stage, Hensley helped the RedHawk women finish 33rd in the nation in 2023 and 32nd in 2024, which are the fourth- and third-highest finishes in program history. The Miami women also finished runner-up at the 2024 MAC Swimming & Diving Championships, their highest finish since 2014. His time in Oxford, Ohio, was also highlighted by placing Nicole Maier on the German Olympic team as part of the 800-freestyle relay, in addition to a trip to the South African Olympic Trials with Olympic hopeful and biomedical engineering student Henju Duvenhage.
From August 2021 to August 2022, Hensley was the assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams at IUPUI. In his season with the Jaguars, the men and women combined to produce 11 school records, win six gold medals and appear on 22 podiums at the Horizon League Championships. Hensley's accomplishments in Indianapolis also include coaching the 2022 Horizon League Women's Freshman of the Year and helping the teams to a pair of third-place finishes in the standings. That experience followed the 2020-21 season, when he was a volunteer at North Carolina State University, helping develop five NCAA champions, 13 All-Americans and one NCAA/US Open record-setting relay.
Hensley earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from North Carolina State University in May 2020. His graduation capped a collegiate career spanning two ACC programs from 2015-20. His career started at Florida State in 2015-16, where he scored points in all three individual races at the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships, highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 100-back. Hensley arrived at N.C. State in January 2017 and sat out for a season before qualifying for the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships in the 100-back in spring 2018. That year, he finished 25th in the nation in the 100-back. In 2018-19, the Florida native was an All-American in the 100-fly and was named to the Academic All-ACC Team.
Hensley's final collegiate season, 2019-20, saw the team captain win the ACC title as part of the 400-freestyle relay while earning All-American honors in the 100-fly, 400-freestyle relay and 800-freestyle relay. In addition to his individual accomplishments at N.C. State, Hensley was also an integral part of Wolfpack teams that finished fourth in the nation from 2017-20 and won four ACC team titles.
