Swim & Dive Roll Past Marist, UConn in Thursday Night Showdown; Thacker Records First Win

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point swimming & diving kicked off their 2026-27 season competing in the Thursday Night Showdown at Crandall Pool. The men competed against Marist, and the women's team took on both Marist and UConn.
This meet marked Director of Army Swimming & Diving, Scott Thacker's first wins at West Point after taking over at the helm in June 2026. He took over the program from Brandt Nigro and is the 11th head coach in Army men's swimming & diving program history and the eighth head coach in Army women's swimming & diving history.
"These first few wins belong to the whole team and staff", said Thacker. "Watching our team and staff set the tone and execute on our standards was a joy. I am beyond proud of the team for what they achieved, and am grateful for the remarkable honor it is to be a part of this team and institution. These results set a great tone for the season, and we are excited to continue the work as we prepare for our upcoming meets."
