Football’s Owen Walter Named to 2026 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point football long snapper Owen Walter has been named to the 2026 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List.
A native of Arlington Heights, Ill. is one of 80 players named to the award's watch list.
Since 2024, Walter has served as the starting long snapper in each game, with three total tackles collected in 2025, including two in Army's win at UTSA on Nov. 29. This season, Walter serves as a team captain alongside center Brady Small and safety Stephen Nnadozie.
Nominated by their schools, the members of the watch list have all demonstrated a record of leadership by exhibiting exceptional courage, integrity and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
Twenty semifinalists will be selected by a by a subset of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Selection Committee and announced on Tues., October 13. Three finalists will then be named for the award on Monday, December 14. The winner of the 10th annual award will be announced at the award ceremony will take place in Spring of 2027.
