Football’s Appleton Named to Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Preseason Watch List

TYLER, Texas – Army West Point football offensive lineman Henry Appleton has been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is presented annually to the nation's outstanding Division I college offensive player who meets one or more of the following criteria: 1. Played football at and graduated from a Texas high school; or 2. Currently playing at a Texas Division I college. The player must also exhibit the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell, including integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, community, and tenacity – Specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is presented by SPORTyler, Inc., in conjunction with the City of Tyler, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Tyler. Located in downtown Tyler, Texas, the non-profit helps to encourage student-athletes to succeed on and off the field.
Appleton—a native of Denton, Texas—started in all 13 games a season ago at left tackle and helped block for 3,485 yards on the season, while being part of a unit which allowed just seven sacks on the year, a metric that was best in all of FBS.
In 2024, quarterback Bryson Daily was named was named a finalist for the award, and attended the awards banquet in Tyler.
