Women's Soccer Downs Rival Boston University, 2-0
September 30, 2026 | Women's Soccer
BOSTON — Army West Point women's soccer moved to 3-0-0 in Patriot League play with a 2-0 win over Boston University on Wednesday at Nickerson Field, avenging — well, repeating — history against the Terriers in a rematch of the 2025 Patriot League Championship, which Army also won. The Black Knights improved to 6-6-0 overall, while BU fell to 5-6-1, 2-1-0.
Kamryn McWhinney needed just 62 seconds to get Army on the board, scoring in the 2nd minute for her sixth goal of the season and extending her lead as the team's top scorer. The early strike set the tone for a defensive masterclass that would define the night.
Despite being outshot 23-7 on the afternoon, Army's "No Goal Patrol" defense did not blink, with Karalyn Dail turning in a standout performance in net. Dail made a career-high nine saves, several of them point-blank stops on BU's Kat Slott and Samantha Ryan, to preserve the shutout — Army's third consecutive clean sheet to open Patriot League play. The Black Knights have not allowed a goal in conference play this season.
Bella Conti put the result out of reach in the 68th minute, finishing off an assist from Maddi Woodward for a 2-0 cushion that held the rest of the way.
The win is Army's third straight in Patriot League play and continues a run of dominance over Boston University. Army's victory marks back-to-back wins over the Terriers in as many meetings, following the Black Knights' 3-2 win over then-No. 1-ranked BU in last year's Patriot League Championship — a result that has quickly turned into one of the more meaningful storylines in this historic rivalry.
