Women's Soccer Blanks Colgate 3-0, Remains Unbeaten in Patriot League Play
October 03, 2026 | Women's Soccer
HAMILTON, N.Y. — Army West Point women's soccer remained perfect in Patriot League play, improving to 4-0-0 in conference with a 3-0 win over Colgate on Saturday at Beyer-Small Field. The Black Knights, who have not allowed a goal through four league matches, moved to 7-6-0 overall, while Colgate fell to 1-10-2, 0-4-0.
Makaela Morrell opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, finishing off a rebound from Sophia Henry's saved shot attempt to send Army into halftime with a 1-0 lead. The Black Knights kept their foot on the gas after the break, with Kamryn McWhinney doubling the advantage in the 67th minute on a goal assisted by Grace Pohlidal and Ailyn Rowe, converting the corner kick. The goal was McWhinney's seventh of the season, and cushions her conference lead in goals scored — ahead of Holy Cross' Sam Halligan and Boston University's Kat Slott, who are tied for second with five apiece as of October 1.
Leila Castell capped the scoring in the 80th minute, converting an assist from Rowe on another set piece for her first goal of the season and a 3-0 cushion. Rowe finished with a pair of assists on the afternoon, continuing her playmaking role in the midfield.
Karalyn Dail made four saves to secure the shutout, Army's fourth straight clean sheet to open Patriot League play — the Black Knights have yet to concede a goal in conference action this season. Army was credited with 12 shots on the day, seven on frame, while limiting Colgate to four shots on goal despite facing an 18-shot outing from the Raiders.
