Chris Koch joined the men's soccer staff at Army West Point in February 2024 as assistant coach, and heads into his second season on Brian Plotkin’s staff in 2025.
Army knocked off both Air Force and Navy in 2024 by 2-1 scorelines. Army defeated both Air Force and Navy in the same season for just the fifth time in program history, and the first time since 2016. Army is now 11-6-5 in its last 22 fixtures vs. academy rivals and has gone unbeaten against academies for the second season in a row.
Koch arrived at West Point following a four-season stint as Associate Head Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology. During his tenure, Stevens saw great success featuring an overall record of 53-14-16 which included three NCAA Tournament Appearances and a Final Four appearance in 2022.
Prior to Stevens, Koch had a three-year stint on the sidelines for his alma mater, Washington (Md.) College, after the completion of his career on the pitch for the Shoremen. In his first year on Castle Point, Koch helped Stevens secure the MAC Freedom Regular Season Title.
In Koch's time with the Washington College, WC totaled 22 victories, including 10 victories in the 2016 season when the Shoremen advanced to the Centennial Conference semifinals. During his tenure, seven players received All-Centennial Conference recoginiton.
As a player, Koch was a four-year defenseman at Washington College for head coach Roy Dunshee, serving as captain in his senior season. During his senior campaign in 2015, the Shoremen posted the program's best record since the 2003 season while holding opponents to 1.24 goals per match.
A native of Hadley, Massachusetts, Koch graduated from Washington College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in history.
