Hulings comes to Army from the University of Kentucky, where he spent two seasons with the Wildcats’ program.
At Kentucky, Hulings oversaw goalkeeper development, recruitment management, game preparation, technology & performance and numerous other aspects of the program.
In 2024, Hulings guided the Sun Belt Conference team to an NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance, after beating both No. 1 Marshall and No. 2 West Virginia during the regular season. Kentucky was the first team in NCAA Division I history to knock off both a current No. 1 and No. 2 in the same season.
Hulings presided over the development of goalkeeper Casper Mols, who was drafted by Atlanta United FC in the third round as the 77th overall pick of the 2024 adidas MLS SuperDraft.
Prior to Kentucky, Hulings spent the 2022 season in the same capacity with UAB. In Birmingham, Hulings guided the Blazers to their lowest goals against average since 2018 (1.375), fewest goals conceded since 2018 (22), highest save percentage since 2018 (.761) and most shutouts since 2018 (4).

A season prior in 2019, he helped the goalkeeping union achieve a program milestone of 291 consecutive minutes without conceding a goal (longest streak since 1996), and maintained the lowest Goals Against Average (GAA) in the A-10 Conference (0.93).
Hulings was awarded the United Soccer Coaches Award of Distinction in 2021.
In addition to Hulings’ experience at Kentucky, UAB and UMass, he served as the director of goalkeeping and assistant coach with youth program Blackrock FC – New England Region from 2019-21.
From 2016-17, Hulings served as assistant and goalkeeper coach at Virginia Tech, where he guided the Hokies to two NCAA Tournament appearances including an elite eight berth in ‘16. Hulings served in the same capacity at Pitt from 2014-15, after serving as an assistant for both the Men’s and Women’s teams at Baldwin Wallace in 2013, while still pursuing his degree.
He graduated from Baldwin Wallace in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. A goalkeeper himself for Baldwin Wallace, Hulings led the team to the 2011 NCAA Division III Tournament.
