Sport Oversight: Football (secondary), Men's Lacrosse, Men's Soccer, Women’s Basketball, and Wrestling.
Veteran college athletics administrator Tricia Brandenburg joined the staff as the Executive Associate Athletics Director in August 2022 and added the Senior Woman Administrator designation in October 2022. In March 2024, she was named Deputy Athletics Director, Chief Leadership Officer & Senior Woman Administrator. As the SWA, Brandenburg represents Army West Point Athletics on various Patriot League and American Athletic Conference committees.
Brandenburg is a member of the Athletics Director’s Senior Leadership Team and Executive Staff, leads the sport administrator team and oversees the areas of Compliance, Sports Medicine, Sports Performance, and Nutrition.
In her time at Army West Point, Brandenburg implemented the Sport Administrator Mentoring Program, providing mid-level staff with opportunities to learn about sport administration while building a bench of sport administrators. She also currently serves a member of the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions and the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships Committee.
Brandenburg arrived at Army West Point with over 20 years’ experience at the NCAA Division I level. For 10 years, Brandenburg served as the Deputy Director of Athletics and SWA at Towson University. During her stint at Towson, she also served as the Interim Director of Athletics.
At Towson, she developed and implemented a model for a sports performance team to improve the health care for student-athletes and reduce the time lost due to injury. She also initiated collaborative sport performance planning across high-performance areas while leading the Total Tiger Wellness program. Prior to Towson, Brandenburg also worked at Ohio University, the University of Massachusetts, Northeastern University and the NCAA.
A 1999 graduate of Cornell University, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Industrial & Labor Relations, where she also earned four varsity letters in wrestling as the team manager. She earned her Master of Science degree in Leadership (2008) and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management (2002) from Northeastern University.
Tricia graduated from the NCAA Fellows Leadership Program (2008), the Women Leaders in Sports Executive Institute (2009 & 2015) and the Towson University Professional Leadership Program for Women (2017). She has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Ohio University in the Department of Sports Administration and is a former President of the National Association for Athletics Compliance.
