Prior to West Point: Played and started for varsity softball for four seasons at Inderkum High School... Received Second Team All-Conference honors twice in her career, was named CIF San-Joaquin D1 section runner-up and earned honor roll all four years... Off the softball field, Garcia also played two years of women's soccer, was the team captain of the flag football teams and was also named Interkum's Female Athlete of the Year... Was a member of the National Honor Society and was the school's club officer for two years... Her grandfather served in Vietnam War and cousin, Max, is currently serving in the Air Force after joining in 2013... Garcia's twin sister, older sister and mother each have collegiate softball experience.
