Women’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Day Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's soccer team will honor the Class of 2016 on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Patriot League-leading Boston University at Clinton Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and the match can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.
With two conference games remaining in the regular season, the Black Knights are currently tied for sixth in the Patriot League standings with eight points after falling to Colgate, 1-0, on Wednesday night. Army is tied with Lehigh with identical 2-3-2 Patriot League records, but the Black Knights own the tiebreaker with the Mountain Hawks by virtue of their 2-0 head-to-head win. The top six teams qualify for the Patriot League Tournament and the top two receive byes into the semifinal round.
Entering Saturday, Army is 4-10-2 overall and 3-2-2 in home contests. Boston University has clinched a postseason berth and is unbeaten in conference play (6-0-1). The Terriers are 8-5-3 on the year and will host the Patriot League Tournament with one point in their final two games.
Senior forward Katie Holder leads Army in scoring with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Holder has three game-winners this season and has scored four of her goals during Patriot League play. Sophomore Clare Shea has scored twice and registered three assists for seven points, including two goals and an assist in her last four conference matches. In goal, Jordan Cassalia has started 15 matches and owns a 1.53 goals-against average.
Boston University comes into Saturday after three consecutive shutout victories over Lehigh and Lafayette. Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Parisi is currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak (7-0-2) and is the reigning Patriot League goalkeeper of the week. The Terriers have allowed two goals throughout conference play and have shut out five Patriot League opponents. BU has not allowed a goal in 296 minutes.
The Terriers lead the all-time series with Army (2-0-1) after playing to a 1-1 draw last year. Sam Gottlieb scored the lone goal for the Black Knights.
