Women’s Lacrosse Meets Lehigh in League Contest

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After last playing on April 2, the Army West Point women's lacrosse team is back on the field this weekend, when its head to Bethlehem, Pa., to face Lehigh on Sunday, April 10 at noon. The contest was originally scheduled for April 9 at 7 p.m., but was moved to Sunday afternoon due to the forecasted snow on Saturday.

Army fell to an 11-5 defeat to Navy in its most recent outing on April 2. Sophomore Rachel Hornick paced the Black Knights with two goals in the setback, while junior Erin Jollota and freshmen Izzy McMahon and Brittany Rinaldi all scored once.
ARMY WEST POINT (5-7, 0-4 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Rowley stopped 10 shots in the Navy game after coming away with season-best 11 saves in the previous contest at Holy Cross.
• Sophomore Amy Johnston was held scoreless for just the second game this year against Navy, but continues to lead the Black Knights with 22 goals, 13 assists, 35 points and 47 draw controls.
• Hornick and freshman Nikki Polhamus are Army's second and third leading goal scorers, with 19 goals and 15 goals, respectively.
• Rowley leads the Black Knights with 3.0 ground balls per game and ranks second in the Patriot League in the category.
LEHIGH (9-2, 3-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Lehigh enters the weekend tied for second in the Patriot League with Bucknell, one game behind 4-0 Loyola.
• The Mountain Hawks' most recent game came on April 5, when they improved to 6-1 at home with a 9-5 win over Rutgers.
• Sophomore Haley Wentzel led Lehigh with three goals in the victory, and juniors Alison LaBeau and Julianne D'Orazio each found the back of the net twice.
• LaBeau ranks first in the Patriot League with 4.60 points per game, while Lehigh stands atop the conference in fewest turnovers per game (12.55) and goals against average (7.27).

The Black Knights are back at Michie Stadium for their final two home games of the year, beginning with a contest against American on Saturday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m.
