TAMPA, Fla. – A nine-run third inning lifted the University of South Florida over the Army West Point softball team in a Sunday matinee at the USF Softball Stadium.

- Army started to rally late in the top of the first inning with a pair of two-out hits by Emily Ballesteros and Nena Riccoboni, but were unable to push across a run.
- The Bulls scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to take an early lead.
- USF posted nine runs on seven hits in the third inning to take an 11-run advantage.
- The Black Knights recorded a run in the top of the fifth on a single down the left field line by Ballesteros which scored senior Alee Rashenskas.
