Army Readies for Fairfield

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point softball team will travel to Fairfield, Conn., for a midweek tilt against the Stags Wednesday at 3 p.m.

This will be the third meeting between the two teams. Army came away with victories in the previous two contests, 7-1 on March 5 and 6-3 on March 17.

ARMY (27-11, 7-2 Patriot League)
• The Black Knights are 17-17 in the all-time series against Fairfield, including two wins this season.
• Army is currently riding a five-game winning streak after taking down Hartford and Lafayette last week.
• Renee Poirier captured the Patriot League's Pitcher of the Week honors after going 3-0 on the week with three complete games.
• Her best performance came in Sunday's series finale against the Leopards when Poirier recorded her second no-hitter of the year.

• Lacey Swafford joined Poirier as the league's Player and Rookie of the week to give Army the sweep.

• The Stags are currently on a two-game losing skid after being swept by Siena on Sunday.
• Fairfield is 6-2 at its home field, Alumni Softball Field, this season.
• Amanda Ulzheimer leads the team with 43 hits (.426 avg.) and has scored 23 runs.
• Tori Reed has provided the power for the Stags, with four home runs, five doubles and 22 RBI.
• In the circle, Destinee Pallotto is tied for the team-lead with six wins and has a 3.42 ERA, the lowest on the staff.
