WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 12 Army West Point gymnastics team was edged by No. 10 Air Force Friday night by 0.600 points, 394.750-394.150.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND MEET NOTES
- Cole Casanova was the highest scorer at the meet accumulating 65.850 points in five events
- Nathan Goff (65.650) and Elliott Herman (53.050) followed suit for the Black Knights' best performers.
- Ryan Wilson won the vault tonight with a mark of 14.100. Only one other competitor scored over a 14.000.
- The team's score of 394.150 is a season-high and is just shy of the program's top-three.
- The Black Knights' 65.800 on high bar ranks third-best in program history under the current scoring regulations.
- Army notched a 65.200 on parallel bars to fall 0.100 behind a top-three mark in the category as well.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Herman was the Cadets' top competitor on floor exercise with a 13.550 to place second overall.
- Seth Cannon and Nick McAfee tied for sixth in the event with 13.000 marks.
- Casanova led the way on pommel horse turning out a 13.350 which was second in the meet.
- Goff tied for fourth at 12.800.
- On the rings, it was Herman again in second place (13.250) coming shy of Air Force's Fletcher Braunton (13.700) who ranks second nationally in the event.
- Wilson captured first on vault tying his season-high mark of 14.100. Alejandro Tombrink placed third at 13.900 also tying his season-high.
- McAfee landed in the second-place slot on parallel bars with a season-high 13.800, 0.450 higher than his next-best score.
- Herman tied for fourth in the event at 13.250, a personal best for the year.
- On the high bar, Goff tied for second with a mark of 13.800, a season-best for the senior.
- Tombrink was fourth in the event as Army's second-best finisher with scores of 13.300.
