Army Geared for Midweek Tilt at Yale

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point softball team returns to action tomorrow afternoon for a doubleheader matchup against Yale in New Haven, Conn., beginning at 2 p.m.

Tomorrow's outing marks the 33rd meeting between the Black Knights and the Bulldogs. Yale holds the all-time series lead at 19-13, but Army has claimed each of the previous nine contests.

ARMY (7-14)

The Black Knights competed at the USF Under Armour Showcase over spring break, playing to a 5-6 mark, but finishing the trip with wins in four of their last six games.
Army currently holds the second-best team batting average (.250) and ERA (3.80) in the Patriot League.
Sophomore Lacey Swafford was tabbed the Patriot League Player of the Week after batting .565 with 11 hits, a pair of doubles, five RBIs and five runs scored.
She is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.
Freshman Courtney Springman shined inside the circle and collected Patriot League Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors. She pitched three complete games and allowed no more than one earned run in any of her three starts.

YALE (3-14)

The Bulldogs are in the middle of an eight-game home stand and are coming off a three-game Ivy League series with Harvard.
Yale has played to a 2-6 mark in its last eight outings, including a 1-3 record at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium.
At the plate, Annie Tarte has experienced the most success, compiling a .305 average with 18 hits, three doubles and six RBIs.
Terra Jerpbak has seen the most action inside the circle this season, making seven starts and 11 appearances. In 47.2 innings of work, she holds a 4.26 ERA with 40 strikeouts.
