Softball Set for Pivotal Weekend League Series

WEST POINT, N.Y. – With Patriot League Tournament implications on the line, the Army West Point softball team will welcome Lafayette for a three-game series this weekend.
The Black Knights currently occupy the fourth spot in the league standings, with Colgate just a single game back.Â
Since 1990, the Black Knights and Leopards have squared off 93 times, with Army holding a 74-19 all-time series lead. The Cadets have won 17 of the last 20 meetings between the two squads.

- The Black Knights will honor seniors Kristen McPeek, Sam Hartman and Taylor Gaff prior to the start of the first game on Saturday.
- Army comes into the weekend off a series split at Hartford on Wednesday. Â
- Kristen McPeek and Carrie Reilly are both on four-game hitting streaks, combining for nine RBIs and seven runs scored over that span.
- Courtney Springman enters the final weekend of league play as the Patriot League leader in ERA (1.83) and opponent's batting average (.211).
LAFAYETTE (7-39, 3-12 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
- The Leopards have dropped seven straight outings and have been outscored 48-15 during that stretch.
- Maddie Wensel carries a team-best .312 average at the plate heading into the final weekend of league play with 34 hits, 24 runs scored, eight doubles, five homers and 21 RBIs.
- In the circle, Alexis Randall has made 19 starts and in 126.1 innings of work holds a 5.26 ERA with 31 strikeouts. Â
- Lafayette has struggled on the road this season, picking up just one victory in 20 tries.
