Sprint Football Sees 14 Named to Postseason Award List

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Sprint Football saw 14 plays named to the CSFL postseason award list announced by the league Monday.Â
Â
The Black Knights saw five cadets named to the All-Conference Offensive First Team, five named to the All-Conference Defensive First Team, and one each to the All-Conference Offensive Second Team, All-Conference Defensive Second Team, All-Conference Honorable Mention Offense and All-Conference Honorable Mention Offense.Â

Army QB Kyle West was named to the Offensive First Team, having started in each game of the Black Knights' 8-0 CSFL Championship season. Joining the sophomore signal caller was fellow sophomore and RB Arthur Lavalais, who led the squad in rushing. OL Luke Melton and Logan Powell, as well as WR Devon Brown, also received first team offensive honors.Â

On defense, four of Army's first team selections were on the front seven. DL Brandon Castro and George White were selected, as were LB Weber Karsay and Louis Petkus. DB Sean Cuffe rounded out the Defensive First Team selections.

WR Ben Deloit was named to the Offensive Second Team, and punter Alex Perine was placed on the Defensive Second Team list.Â

WR Scott Belveal was named Offensive Honorable Mention and LB Zion Sims was awarded Defensive Honorable Mention.Â

Army defeated Navy 21-16 November 16 to capture the CSFL Championship at home. It was the sixth season in a row in which the title game was between the pair of rivals. The Black Knights had previously won in the Star Series presented by USAA with a 17-3 win in Annapolis October 4.Â

2024 was Army's 22nd unbeaten season and 18th perfect season in program history (the CSFL used to recognize tied game results).
