Crush, McKane Tapped for Patriot League Swimmers of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point swimming & diving swept the Patriot League Swimmer of the Week awards for the second consecutive week to start the season as Johnny Crush and Angie McKane were recognized by the league for their efforts on Tuesday.
Crush, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., put on a slate of strong performances for Army at the Georgia Tech Dual Meet Tournament against Florida State, Georgia Tech, and George Washington to earn his ninth career Swimmer of the Week title.
Crush compiled eight top three finishes including six first place finishes over the weekend. Against Florida State, he claimed first in the men's 200 back (1:42.64) and second place in the men's 50 free (19.69).
Next against tournament host Georgia Tech Crush finished first in the men's 200 free relay (1:18.27), first in the men's 100 back (47.79), and first in the men's 50 free (19.79). Finally, against George Washington he earned first place in the men's 100 back (46.05), second place in the men's 100 free (44.28), and first place in the men's 200 medley relay (1:26.99).
McKane, a sophomore from Corning, N.Y., earned her third career Patriot League Swimmer of the Week title after she made a splash for Army's women's team in Atlanta. She earned six top three finishes including four first place finishes for the Black Knights.
Against Florida State, she claimed first place in the women's 100 fly with a personal best, program record-setting, Patriot League record-setting, and NCAA standard-meeting time of 52.10 as well as earning second place in the women's 50 free with a 22.99.
She then earned second place in the women's 200 IM against Georgia Tech with a personal best time of 2:02.28. Finally, she earned a trio of first-place finishes against George Washington with a 3:22.79 in the women's 400 free relay, a 23.02 in the women's 50 free, and a 1:42.10 in the women's 200 medley relay.
The Black Knights will return to action on Friday, Oct. 31st when they travel to Boston, Mass. to swim against Boston University and Boston College in a tri-meet beginning at 5 p.m. ET at the FitRec Competition Pool.
