ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Army West Point swimming & diving traveled down to Annapolis for the latest rendition of the Army-Navy Star Meet as part of the Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA. The Black Knights put on a strong fight at Lejeune Hall, but the Midshipmen claimed wins on both the men's and women's sides of the meet to claim the two stars up for grabs Saturday afternoon.
Women: Navy 152, Army 148
Army's women's team fought the Midshipmen to the wire as the Black Knights wrestled for control of the meet all the way until the final leg of the final event where Navy's 400 free relay team just edged into the lead to secure the women's star in the final event of the night.
Senior Molly Webber displayed her dominance at Lejeune Hall with a trio of individual first place finishes and a second-place finish in the women's 400 free relay. She opened her night with a first place finish in the women's 1000 free on a 9:50.35 to set a program and meet record for the event.
Webber returned to the water a few minutes later to claim first place in the women's 200 free as well (1:47.14). After the first swimming break, the Morris Plains, N.J. native hit the pool for the women's 500 free where she put up a 4:48.74 to claim her third first place finish of the night.
