December 09, 2025 | Hockey
BOSTON, Mass. – Army West Point hockey sophomore Jack Ivey earned Atlantic Hockey America's Forward of the Week honors on Tuesday after a four-point week for the forward from California.
"Jack has played outstanding recently and continues to make an impact in our games," commented Head Coach Zach McKelvie, "He's a player that can change a game, so we are proud that he is being recognized."
Ivey played a key role in Army's four-point weekend at Sacred Heart where the Black Knights earned a 3-3 tie on Friday and a 2-0 shutout win on Saturday. The sophomore forward recorded a team and series-high four points from a goal and an assist to lead all skaters on both teams in total points over the two-game series.
On Friday, Ivey first got into the points column with an assist on twin brother Ben Ivey's power play goal to give Army a 2-1 lead. After the Pios tied things up in the third, Jack scored himself only twenty-two seconds after Sacred Heart to put Army ahead 3-2 with his fourth goal of the season.
Ivey played the role of playmaker once more on Saturday, assisting on goals for both Vincent Salice and Barron Woodring in the second period to help Army to its first shutout win of the season as it went 2-0 over the Pioneers.
The San Diego native was no slouch on the other end of the ice as he logged a blocked shot on Saturday to help hold the home team scoreless to preserve Army's lead.
Ivey's four point weekend pushes him to second on the team in total points with 13, just one behind team captain Barron Woodring with 14 points. He also stands tied for the team lead in total assists with nine so far this season.
