Men’s Lacrosse Set for 105th Army-Navy Game Saturday in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. –No. 5 Army West Point men's lacrosse (9-1, 4-1 Patriot League) makes the trip down the Eastern seaboard to Annapolis this weekend to take on the Navy Midshipmen (7-4, 3-2 Patriot League) on Saturday, April 12th at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in the latest chapter of a storied rivalry dating back to 1924 when the two teams clashed for the very first time.

- Army pressed down on the gas pedal to improve on its impressive 2025 campaign with a 13-7 win on the road over league opponent Colgate.
- The Black Knights dominated the defensive game, holding the Raiders scoreless in the first and third quarters.
- Army got off to a quick start offensively, building a 4-0 lead in the first quarter that grew to an 8-5 lead at the half. A second 4-0 quarter for Army in the third extended the advantage on the way to the team's eighth consecutive game with 10 or more goals.
- Jackson Eicher recorded his third performance in the last four games with at least five goals to lead Army's 13-goal game followed by Gunnar Fellows with three goals then by Hill Plunkett (2g, 3a) and Brayden Fountain (2g, 1a) with two goals apiece.

- National Rankings: After dropping to No. 9 in the Inside Lacrosse and USILA polls two weeks ago, Army has worked its way back into the top five as the Black Knights were ranked fifth in both polls on Monday.
- Never Back Down Never What?: The Black Knights have proven to be a thorn in the side of many top teams over the past five seasons. Army is undefeated in its last five games against ACC opponents and boasts an 8-2 record against ACC, Ivy League, and Big 10 programs in its last 10 games against programs from those leagues.
- Daunting Defense: Army's defense has held its opponents to a combined 61 goals over ten games this season. Army leads the nation in goals allowed, scoring defense (6.10), and scoring margin (7.50).
- National Leaderboard: The Black Knights stand tall on the national leaderboards with five members in the top five of various categories with Sean Byrne holding the top spot in save percentage (0.673) and GAA (5.89). Army stands second overall in assists per game (9.20) and third in win percentage (.900).
- Turned the Beat Around: Army changed the tune for the 2025 season on Saturday after closely mirroring its 2024 midseason run when the Black Knights earned their ninth win of the season at RV Colgate (13-7). Army will look to secure its fourth consecutive 10+ win season on Saturday at Navy.

- Jackson Eicher (senior, attack) – Leads the team in total points (60), stands second in the nation for goals per game (3.50), and stands third in the nation for points per game (6.00). Eicher passed the 100-career point threshold at Lehigh with his seven-point game and now holds 122 career points after a seven-point game at Colgate.
- Brayden Fountain (freshman, attack) – Second on the team in total goals (31) and stands tied for 12th in the nation for goals per game (3.10). Stands second on the team in total points (43) and assists (12) in his freshman season.
- Evan Plunkett (junior, midfielder) – Stands fourth on the team in total goals (11) and in total points (21) Totals 115 points, 61 goals, and 54 assists in his career.
- Christian Fournier (senior, long-stick midfielder) – Third in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.78) with a team-high 25 caused turnovers this season. Totals 136 ground balls and 60 caused turnovers in his career.
- AJ Pilate (senior, defense) – Second on the team and tenth in the league in ground balls this season (33). Totals 131 ground balls and 66 caused turnovers over his career.
- Sean Byrne (junior, goalkeeper) – Leads the nation in save percentage (0.671) and GAA (6.03) this season. Anchors a Black Knights' defense that leads the nation in goals allowed (61), scoring defense (6.10), and scoring margin (7.50).
