No. 19 Women's Lacrosse Posts 16-6 Victory on Senior Day Over Bucknell

WEST POINT, NY - No. 19 Army West Point women's lacrosse (12-2, 7-1 Patriot League) logged a 16-6 victory over Bucknell (6-9, 2-6 Patriot League) on senior day from Michie Stadium.
With the win, Army secured the number two seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament as the Black Knights will now have a bye into the semifinals which are slated for Thursday, May 1 in Baltimore, Maryland as Loyola MD earned the right to host.
Prior to the game, the seven members of the class of 2025 were honored as part of senior day festivities as Amara Higgins, Haley Kampert, Gabrielle Mirak, Lexi Patterson, Hannah Pohlidal, Alyce Smith and Catherine Theut were recognized.
History was made throughout the contest as Allison Reilly matched her own program record with 12 points through six goals and six assists.
Brigid Duffy broke her own single season caused turnover record with her 29th of the campaign as the star midfielder added three goals, five draw controls and a pair of ground balls.
Army's defense was the story as Lindsey Serafine made ten stops while allowing just five goals in 56 minutes of action.
Meghan Pedrani caused three turnovers in the first quarter while scooping up a pair of ground balls. Reilly Sullivan, Jackie Braceland and Ryan Remaly each registered three ground balls as well in a team effort defensively.
Chloe Garrett pitched in a career-high five points with a pair of goals and three assists as Mirak and Lily Valentini each contributed a pair of goals in the effort.
Army won the draw 18-7 with Sarah Chernik dominating the circle to collect nine draw controls.
Army fell behind 2-1 before an extended 6-0 run which saw Reilly score four times while assisting on a Duffy goal that started the scoring in the second quarter. Reilly had four goals and three assists in the first half as Army took an 8-3 lead into halftime.
The Black Knights scored the first two of the second half to put the game out of reach, with Reilly and Duffy once again finding the back of the net to put Army ahead 10-3.
The Bison answered with the next two and seemingly a third, but the goal was called back due to a dangerous follow through which then prompted a 5-0 Army run from the end of the third into the final minute of the game.
Reilly got her 54th goal of the season as part of the run before assisting goals from Duffy and Valentini to match the single-game record.
Bucknell got one final goal with 12 seconds remaining as the clock was running for the final few minutes of the game to bring the final scoreline to 16-6.
The win marked the seventh straight win for Army and the fourth consecutive season with at least seven wins in the Patriot League regular season circuit.
Army will close out the regular season at home on Thursday against Colgate with opening draw set for 5 p.m. from Michie Stadium.
