Softball's Jessica Gorman Promoted to Associate Head Coach

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Head softball coach Jen Consaul announced that assistant coach Jessica Gorman would be promoted to associate head coach on Tuesday afternoon.
The four-year assistant coach joined the Army coaching staff in January of 2022, prior to Consaul taking over the head coaching job in the 2023 season.
"Jess has been an integral part of the Army Softball program for the past four years," Consaul said. "She works tirelessly each day and truly embodies the Army Softball standard. Her impact has been vital in helping us build the championship culture we've been striving for, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside her as we compete for championships."
Throughout Gorman's time at West Point, the Black Knights have earned 91 wins and have made four appearances in the Patriot League Tournament.
Gorman has also coached 19 players who have earned Patriot League All-League honors and three players who earned NFCA Northeast First and Second Team honors.
Most recently in 2025, Gorman helped coached the Black Knights who 35-22 overall with a 16-2 conference record. The sixteen wins in conference wins set a program record for most Patriot League wins in a season. Army also finished the season as the Patriot League regular season champion, claiming the title outright for the first time since 2010.
Junior Ashton White was named Patriot League Player of the Year, while Consaul was named Coach of the Year.
A program record nine Black Knights were named to a Patriot League All-League Team, with three being named to the First Team (Ashton White, Taylor Brown and Katelyn Flanders) and six being named to the Second Team (Annie Christiana, Sienna Tepley, Caitlyn Newburn, Emma Murchison, Maaika Dones and Breanna Izzo).
The Black Knights finish the Patriot League Championship as the runner-up, earning two wins against the No. 4 seed Bucknell Bison and two losses against the No. 2 seed Boston University. Ashton White, Taylor Brown and Breanna Izzo were named to the 2025 Patriot League Softball All-Tournament Team for their performances in the tournament.
Ashton White also earned All-ECAC team honors and a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Northeast First Team. Katelyn Flanders was a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Finalist, as well as was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Prior to her arrival at West Point in January 2022, Gorman came to Army after spending three seasons at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis as an assistant coach.
While with Jags, she was heavily involved in recruiting and working with prospective student-athletes. Gorman worked as a hitting coach for IUPUI, developing practice plans as well as individual programs for student-athletes. While at IUPUI, she helped five players earn All-Horizon League honors.
Prior to IUPUI, Gorman was an assistant coach and volunteer at Wright State for three seasons. During her time as a volunteer she assisted with the outfield and hitting. For the next two seasons, Gorman was the outfield and hitting coach for the Raiders, helping two outfielders earn All-Horizon League honors in her first year. During her second season she guided two more All-Horizon League honorees.
Gorman played four years at Wright State and was the started in center field for the Raiders. She finished career in the top-ten in Wright State history in multiple categories, including doubles, home runs, stolen bases, on base percentage, and runs scored.
Gorman earned multiple accolades during her career including All-Freshman team, Second-Team All-Horizon, First-Team All-Horizon, and Horizon League All-Tournament Team.
Gorman earned a bachelor's of science in education in sport science and a master's in sport management from Wright State.
