BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Army West Point women's soccer freshman Kamryn McWhinney was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the conference office announced Monday.
McWhinney found the back of the net in both of Army West Point's road wins last week, totaling four points, to help the Black Knights improve to 4-0 in the Patriot League. She scored the game-winner just 62 seconds into the 2-0 win at Boston University on Wednesday and added an insurance goal in the 67th minute of Saturday's 3-0 win at Colgate. She put all four of her shots on target, totaling four points on the week.
The Macungie, Pa. native leads the Patriot League in goals (7) and game-winning goals (3) and is second in points (14) on the season.
Army improved to 4-0-0 in Patriot League play and 7-6-0 overall last week and has not allowed a goal in conference action. The Black Knights next face Navy in the Army-Navy Cup at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. on Oct. 9 at 4:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
