Gymnastics Earns Victory over ECAC foe Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Army West Point gymnastics secured their first victory of the dual season with a win over Simpson (0-1, 0-1 ECAC) by a score of 303.350 to 303.200. For Army (1-2, 1-1 ECAC), freshman Thomas Morrow and senior Maddox Pabellon took home event titles in the Floor Exercise and Pommel Horse.
Starting on the Floor Exercise, the Black Knights earned a 51.600 team score and was highlighted by Morrow earning a new career high 13.700 in the event. Nick Lester came in second place with a 13.200, tying a season high.
Continuing the success on floor into the second event, the Black Knights took home the event title on the Pommel Horse. Senior Maddox Pabellon earned a 13.750 on the Pommel Horse to take the title. Sophomore Jake Prabhakaran earned a 13.350 to come in second place.
On the Still Rings, Jaden Blank was the highest finisher for the Black Knights with a 12.650 finishing in fifth on the apparatus. In the fourth event, Jaden Blank earned a 13.450 with a tying for second place on the Vault. The Vault was the highest team score on an apparatus for the Black Knights with a 53.200.
In the second to last event the Parallel Bars, Jacob Brenner earned a 13.050 earning a second place finish, while in the Horizontal Bars, Cash Johnston and Blank were the two highest finishers for Army with a 12.500.

The Black Knights will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State and William & Mary at 2 p.m. on Feb. 28.
