Wrestling’s Quartet Set for NCAA Championships
March 18, 2026 | Wrestling
CLEVELAND – The sport's biggest stage is upon Army West Point wrestling.
Four Black Knights will compete in the NCAA Championships this Thursday through Saturday, at Cleveland, Ohio's Rocket Arena.
Ethan Berginc competes in the NCAA Championships for the fourth time in his career, just the fifth four-time qualifier in program history and the most recent since Ben Pasiuk earned All-American status in 2024. Gunner Filipowicz meanwhile is a three-time qualifier in his junior season. Junior Braden Basile and sophomore Brady Colbert each are making their second career trip to NCAAs.
Fans can follow along on ESPN+ and follow live scores on TrackWrestling and FloWrestling. PDF and interactive brackets are available for viewing. All sessions will also feature a single linear broadcast on the ESPN family of networks moving from mat to mat.
Additional tournament information can be found on the NCAA's Championship Central.
Berginc is fresh off a second-place finish at the EIWA Championships at 133 lbs. It's the second time Berginc has qualified at 133 after making the NCAAs at 125 lbs twice as an underclassman.
Basile returns to the championships after missing last year's competition in Philadelphia. His bounce back year featured a Black Knight Invite Championship in November and a fourth-place finish at the EIWA Championships at 141 lbs, qualifying for Cleveland as an at-large.
After needing at at-large a season ago, Filipowicz finished third at 165 lbs in this year's EIWA Championships and qualified automatically to NCAAs. The three-time Southern Scuffle finalist over his career becomes Army's latest three-time NCAA qualifier.
After breaking into the starting lineup at the last minute of the season a year ago at heavyweight, Colbert makes his second trip to the NCAA Championships as a sophomore this year, finishing fourth at the EIWA Championships to earn an automatic allocation. Colbert's arguable highlight in 2025-26 was a 2-0 win over Navy's Spencer Lanosga in the final bout of the Star Dual to clinch Army's 19-18 win.
