Football’s Nwawuihe Named to Doak Walker Award Preseason Watch List

DALLAS – Army West Point football running back Godspower Nwawuihe have been named to the Doak Walker Award Preseason Watch List by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum.
The Forum annually presents the award to the nation's most outstanding college running back.
The 2026 list features 62 running backs. Nwawuihe is one of 12 sophomores nationally and four American Conference players to be featured on the watch list.
The Garland, Texas native played in four games a season ago, moving to running back midseason after beginning the season in the quarterback room. He finished the season with 196 yards rushing and a pair of scores, with both touchdowns and 171 yards coming in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl win over UConn, where Nwawuihe was named Offense MVP.
