Matt Faulkner is in his 11th year at the United States Military Academy. Faulkner enters his fifth year as Assistant Athletic Director for Digital and Social Strategies after spending four years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Creative.
Faulkner handles the social media strategy, planning and execution for the department's main platforms and select individual sport accounts. He also oversees branding and is a digital content creator as the graphic designer for the department.
Prior to his current position, he oversaw the communications office for three-plus years and led the creative department from the spring of 2018 to the summer of 2019.
Faulkner joined the Army staff in June 2014 after spending four years at Colgate University as an assistant director and associate director in 2013-14. He oversaw media relations and communications for men's ice hockey, field hockey, women's volleyball and women's lacrosse, as well as men's and women's tennis and swimming and diving.
In his final year with the Raiders, Faulkner took over the reins of the department's website and design responsibilities. He helped with the transition of the office as the department's only salaried employee during the summer of 2012.
Faulkner had a three-year stint at Dartmouth before moving on to Colgate. While with the Big Green, he worked with field hockey, women's ice hockey and men's lacrosse, as well as tennis, track and field, cross country and sailing. During his time in Hanover, he also assisted with most of the program's 34 sports.
Prior to Dartmouth, Faulkner spent a year as the sports information intern at Division II Saint Michael's in Vermont, and also at the University of Maine.
The Sanford, Maine, native graduated with a degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts in 2006.
