THE DETAILS
- The two teams squared-off last weekend at the West Point Open.
- The Nittany Lions won the team finals by a score of 412.35 to edge No. 7 Nebraska (410.60) and No. 12 Army (393.55) who were the second and third-place finishers, respectively.
- Michael Burns of Penn State captured the all-around scoring with an 82.70 after finishing among the top three in three of the six events to include first on high bar.
- The Black Knights' senior All-Arounder Nathan Goff was sixth in the All-Around (80.25)Â competition during Friday night's team finals. Goff excelled on the high bar and parallel bars and moved forward in both events for Saturday's individual finals.
- Goff turned in a 14.25 to trail PSU's Dominic DiFulvio's winning mark of 14.75 on the high bar. The army all-arounder's score bettered his mark of 14.00 that he set in prelims Friday evening. He then placed third on the parallel bars with a score of 13.65.
- For his effort, he was also recognized as the ECAC Gymnast of the Week for his routines alongside Ryan Wilson who was the ECAC Specialist of the Week.
- Wilson tied for second on vault with a 14.25 along with Brayden Borremeo of Penn State in Friday night's scoring.
THE LINEUP
- The Black Knights will look to utilize a range of athletes for Saturday's meet. (It is also subject to change).
- The floor event will feature Joe Pritts, Leo Genders, Erik Del Cid, Goff, Seth Cannon and Grant Cullen.
- Darrel Yamamura, Wilson, Nick McAfee, Goff, Elliott Herman and Grant Cullen will represent Army on the rings.
- Elijah-Ty Phelps, Cullen, Herman, Goff, Seth Cannon and MacAfee will participate on the parallel bars.
- Pommel horse will see Brandon Shively, Yamamura, Rex Scott, Phelps, Goff and Cannon in action.
- Genders, Wilson, Cannon, Alejandro Tombrink, Pritts and Del Cid will team together for the vault, which was Army's premier event at the West Point Open.
- Last but not least, Yamamura, Tombrink, Cannon, Herman, Genders and Goff will compete on the high bar.
