Army Heads to Lehigh for Final League Series

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point softball team will make its final push for the Patriot League tournament this weekend as the squad heads to Bethlehem, Pa., to face Lehigh in a three-game series at Leadership Park.
Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game are slated to begin at noon, with Sunday being the Mountain Hawks' senior day.

ARMY (33-16, 10-5 Patriot League)
• Army is currently ranked third in the Patriot League standings.
• The Black Knights enter the series on a six-game winning streak, the second-longest active streak in the league.
• Army is coming off a midweek sweep against Marist in which the Black and Gold captured victories of 6-4 and 2-1.
• Head coach Michelle DePolo became the second coach in program history to reach 250 career wins after taking game one against the Red Foxes.
• Renee Poirier earned her fifth save of the season in Thursday's opener, tying her for third nationally, before picking up her 13th win in the nightcap.

• Offensively, Ashley Yoo and Lacey Swafford are tied for the team-lead in hits with 43 and averages of .352 and .307, respectively.
• Rookie Emily Ballesteros has the most extra-base hits on the team with 14 on nine doubles, three triples and two home runs.

• Vicky Lattanzio and Ashley Cole provide the power in the middle of the lineup with a combined nine homers, while Carolyn Wright paces the squad with 30 RBI.
• Christine Campbell is the ace of the pitching staff, leading the Patriot League in ERA (1.87), opposing batting average (2.23) and wins (16).
• In 18 starts this season, Campbell has tossed 12 complete games and two shutouts.
