BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Army West Point softball team fell in its series finale at Lehigh, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at Leadership Park.

The Black Knights dropped to 33-19 overall and 10-8 in the Patriot League, while Lehigh improved to 30-16 on the season and 14-1 in league play.

Rookie Lacey Swafford recorded her eighth multi-hit game of the season, bringing her total to 45 hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Army sprinted out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning that was capped with an RBI infield single by rookie Amelia Trotter.
Lehigh earned a game-tying two-run double in the second inning off the bat of Brianna Gerhardt.
The score remained tied until the bottom of the fifth when another two RBI double gave the Mountain Hawks a 4-2 advantage.
They would add an insurance run in the following inning.
