Men's Hoops Fall to Colgate

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball team (5-13, 1-4 PL) fell to defending Patriot League champions Colgate (10-8, 4-1 PL) Wednesday night in Christl Arena by a score of 64-56.
The first half started strong for the Black Knights, they held Colgate scoreless for the first 5:48 of the game, jumping out to a 6-0 lead.
The first half was defined by a balanced Army scoring attack that saw eight Black Knights score points.
The Raiders would fight back and go on a 12-0 run to take a 16-14 lead with 5:04 left in the first half.
After a bucket with 15 seconds left, Colgate took a one point advantage into the locker room at half.
The Black Knights opened the second half with a huge punch, going on a 12-5 run to take a 33-29 lead. The Raiders responded with a 13-5 run to regain the lead with 4:16 left in the game.
Unfortunately, the Black Knights never regained the lead and fell 64-56.
Josh Scovens came out of his funk in the second half with 14 points to lead the team. He was the only Black Knight in double figures. Abe Johnson was a monster on the glass with 13 rebounds, tying a career high.
Army will be back in action on Saturday in Annapolis to take on Navy at 1:30 pm in Alumni Hall.
