WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point sprint football dominated Chestnut Hill to the tune of a 35-0 win.
Kyle West went off in his first career start, the sophomore went 21-24 for 220 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Devon Brown also had an insane game bringing in three catches, all of which were touchdowns.
On Army's opening drive, West found Brown from 30 yards out to make it a 7-0 ball game. After the Black Knights forced a three and out, Arthur Lavalais went to work. He had his first touchdown of the season, scoring from 27 yards out.
Chestnut Hill began putting a drive together getting to the Army 32 yardline but then Weber Karsay ripped the ball out to force a fumble and give the Black Knights the ball back.
After an Army punt, Sean Cuffe picked Chestnut Hill off at the Army five on fourth down. Two drives later, West found Brown again for a 25 yard touchdown pass. After a three and out, Brown got his third touchdown of the half, this time from 33 yards out to send Army into halftime with a 28-0 lead.
Scott Belveal joined the party in the third quarter with a three yard touchdown run to make it 35-0.
That would be the final score of the night. All in all, the Black Knights out-gained Chestnut Hill 199-156 on the ground and 223-73 through the air. Army averaged 7.2 yards per play on the night.
Next up for the Black Knights is Navy as part of the Star Series presented by USAA on Oct. 4 at 7 PM in Annapolis, MD.
