Men's Basketball Returns to Christl Arena to Take on Manhattan

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point men's basketball (2-6) returns to Christl Arena after two straight weeks on the road on Saturday, November 29, taking on the Manhattan University Jaspers (3-4).
The Black Knights played four consecutive games on the road over the two-week road trip, ultimately finishing 1-3. Army saw losses at Cornell and Marist, plus a loss against East Texas A&M, before closing the trip with a win over FDU on Wednesday.
Saturday marks the 74th meeting between Army and Manhattan, with Army holding a 44-29 record in the series dating back to 1905. Manhattan has dominated the series in recent years, winning the last seven matchups, including an 80-79 win over the Black Knights on Nov. 22, 2024.
The game against the Jaspers is set to tip off at 1 p.m. ET inside Christl Arena. For fans who can't make the game in person, the matchup will also stream live on ESPN+.
ARMY STORYLINES:
WHAT HAPPENED LAST GAME: Army closed its appearance at the FDU Thanksgiving Classic with a win on Wednesday, defeating tournament host, Fairleigh Dickinson, 81-73. With the win, the Black Knights now hold a 10-5 overall series record over the Knights, stretching their win streak to two straight wins in the series. Army also snaps a six-game losing streak, earning its first win over a Div. I team in the 2025-26 season.
RING THE BELL: Sophomore guard Jaxson Bell played a crucial role off the bench in Army's win on Tuesday against FDU. Bell finished the game with a team-high and career-best 16 points, alongside adding a team-high seven rebounds, with eight points coming from the free throw line. The game marked Bell's second double-digit performance of the young 2025-26, with Bell finishing with 11 points in Army's matchup against Harvard on Nov. 15.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE: Sophomore forward Joshua Eli also had a career performance against the Knights on Tuesday. Eli finished with two career-highs, 12 points and 11 rebounds. Those totals marked not only Eli's first career double-digit performance, but also his first career double-double. Eli is also the first Black Knight to earn a double-double in a single game this season.
CHEF (RYAN) CURRY: Junior guard Ryan Curry returns for his third season with the Black Knights, currently averaging a team-high 11.6 points a game while adding a team-high 4.0 assists a game. The junior has scored in double digits for the past six games, scoring a season-high 16 points and adding a season-best eight rebounds against Marist. Most recently, he finished with 14 points against FDU. He scored 13 points while adding a game-high six assists at Cornell. The junior earned a team-high 11 points against Harvard, adding four rebounds and three assists. In his first game back, the junior finished with 10 points and added a season-high seven assists plus six rebounds against St. Thomas.
THE BOOGEYMAN: Sophomore forward Jacen Holloway is currently second on the team in scoring efforts for Army, averaging 10.9 points a game while shooting 54.0 percent from the floor. On November 18, Holloway had a career performance, earning a career-best 22 points on the road against Cornell. He also added career-highs in field goals made (9) and three-pointers made (2). His performance also marked his first 20+ point performance in his career and his third double-digit performance in the young season.
THE SIXTH MAN: Freshman guard Jackson Furman has made an immediate impact for the Black Knights, averaging 10.2 points a game off the bench while averaging 17.5 minutes a game. The plebe earned a career-high and game-high 20 points against Duke, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 55.5 percent from the three-point line. Furman also earned 17 points in his first collegiate game against SUNY Maritime, the most a freshman has scored in his debut in 11 seasons and the second most since 2000.
JORNADO WARNING: Jorn Everson played a key role off Army's bench last season and now serves as a primary member of Army's starting lineup and currently averages 9.0 points a game. The senior had a strong showing against Cornell on the road, finishing with a career-best and game-high 24 points, while tying his career-highs in made field goals (8) and three-pointers made (4). He also had a career-high four made free throws. The game marked the second game Everson has scored 20+ points in a single game.
TATE ON THE BOARD: Junior forward Tate Laczkowski, the tallest player on Army's roster, serves as the biggest rebounding threat for Army. Laczkowski leads Army, averaging 5.5 rebounds a game, earning nine rebounds in his first career start versus Maritime, eight rebounds against St. Thomas, and seven rebounds at Cornell, all three being team-highs. The junior earned a season-high six points in Army's loss to Harvard. In Army's first two games, he added four points and one block against Maritime and five points in a career-high 31 minutes against St. Thomas.
THE WALLET: A key role player for Army, Kevin McCarthy averages 8.9 points a game. In Army's game against Maritime, the sophomore sharpshooter scored a career-high 18 points and also added career-highs in field goals made (7), three-pointers made (4) steals (3), and minutes (28). He also tied his career-high in three-pointers made against St. Thomas. He earned a career-high four assists against Duke and a season-high six rebounds at Cornell. He earned 10 points against Marist a team-high 12 points against East Texas A&M.
