Baseball Drops Series Finale, Quinlan Wins Player of the Week

The Black Knights still took the three-game series at Doubleday Field, winning both games Sunday.
During Monday's game, Catcher Jack Quinlan was named Patriot League Player of the Week.
Lehigh scored four unanswered runs in the seventh through the ninth innings, coming back from two runs down. A pair of solo home runs tied the game in the seventh before a two-run homer gave the Mountain Hawks the lead for good in the final inning.
Army answered a two-run top of the first for Lehigh with a Quinlan RBI single in the bottom of the inning, before Thomas Schreck scored on a wild pitch an inning later to tie the game.
Chris Barr logged an RBI double in the fourth to give Army a lead before Lehigh responded with two runs in the fifth to go ahead 4-3.
The Black Knights retook the lead in the sixth on a William Parker RBI double and a two-run pinch-hit single from John McKillop.
Robbie Penswick took the decision out of the bullpen for Army, striking out five over 2.2 innings.
Trey Ates gave 1.2 innings in relief, after starting pitcher Bryce Brownlee went 4.2 frames.
By the Numbers
11: Army drew 11 walks Monday, a season-best. Addison Ainsworth drew three of those free passes, with Coleson Titus working a pair.
2-for-4: Schreck was 2-for-4 at the plate.
Black Knight Notes
Monday ended a run of 14 consecutive league games that were part of a doubleheader.
Schreck extended his on-base streak to 20 games Monday.
Barr moved to second base in the seventh inning, the first time he had played the infield position since February 21 at Wofford. Barr made 33 starts at second base in 2024.
Zac Farrell moved to left field for the seventh and eighth innings before moving back to right. It was his first time in left since February 21 at Wofford.
Mark Abell was moved to third base in the seventh inning, for the first time since March 12 vs. UAlbany.
Quinlan Named Player of the Week
Quinlan was named Patriot League Player of the Week during Monday's game, after a standout performance in Sunday's doubleheader vs. Lehigh. The Long Island native went 3-for-4 in Game 1 and 3-for-5 in Game 2, totaling six RBIs across the games. He also hit a solo home run in the nightcap.
Next Up
Army faces Holy Cross Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch from Doubleday Field. The homestand then continues next weekend for three games vs. Lafayette.
