Â
The win cliched Army's first three-game sweep since defeating Lafayette in three games April 19-20 a season ago.
Â
Army's sweep was its first of at least three games on the road since beating Navy three times on April 22-23, 2023.
Â
The series-game sweep was also the Black Knights' first of three or more games over a non-conference opponent since a three-game sweep over UMass on March 14-15, 2015.
Â
Ates' six innings pitched Sunday tied his career-high in innings pitched set on May 11 at Navy a season ago, with that lengthy scoreless bullpen appearance propelling Army to a series win in Annapolis to advance to the Patriot League Championship Series.Â
Â
Overbeek's pitching appearance Sunday was his second of the series after recording an eight-out save in Friday night's series opener. He also started in the batting order of all three contests at Queens.Â
Â
Schreck's squeeze bunt was Army's first of the season after cashing in on two squeezes a season ago.
