WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Baseball fully announces its 2026 postseason individual award winners, with five Black Knights named to the All-Patriot League First or Second Teams, two All-Tournament Team members, and well four regional and national awards being won.Â
Â
The Black Knights' Josiah Overbeek was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year, with Thomas Schreck joining him as Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year.
Â
Overbeek was also named ECAC Player of the Year, an ABCA/Rawlings Northeast All-Region First Team honoree, an NCBWA First Team Freshman All-American and NCBWA Second Team All-American.
Â
Overbeek broke out in his plebe year as a two-way phenom for Army, leading the team in batting average (.314), OPS (1.226), home runs (17) and walks drawn (56). The Weatherford, Texas native also led the conference in each of the latter three categories.
Â
In addition to reaching base safely in each game played, Overbeek led Army with five saves and was second in pitching wins with a perfect 5-0 record.
Â
Schreck was named Defensive Player of the Year after going into the season as the conference's Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. The senior from Needville, Texas has started all but two games at shortstop in 2026.
Â
In addition to his stellar play on the left side of the infield, Schreck was second on the team in batting average with a .284 clip and hit three home runs on the year.
Â
Schreck and Overbeek were each named to the First Team All-Patriot League team, as an infielder and in the at-large spot, respectively. Joining the pair as a first-teamer was infielder Chris Barr. The senior from Sarasota, Fla. was third on the team with a .281 batting average and had three home runs on the season, including two in Army's win over SEC foe South Carolina on February 20.
Â
Barr was named Patriot League Player of the Week on February 23, and on April 14 vs. Wagner, he hit for the cycle while going 5-for-5 and collecting the first cycle by an Army player since 2008.
Â
Starting pitcher Andrew Berg and outfielder William Parker each received Second Team All-Patriot League nods.Â
Â
Overall, Army was the only Patriot League team to have multiple major award winners. The Black Knights clinched the No. 1 seed for the Patriot League Baseball Championships and Co-Regular Season Championship, finishing 2026 with a 28-20 overall record and 17-9 mark in conference play, defeating rival Navy in Annapolis for the final series of the regular season.
