August 23, 2026 | Women's Soccer
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point women's soccer used a three-goal outburst in a 17-minute second-half span to pull away from Vermont, 3-0, Sunday at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field. The shutout win improved the Black Knights to 2-2-0 on the season.
Freshman Kamryn McWhinney continued her hot start, breaking a scoreless deadlock in the 60th minute off an assist from Megan Youngberg for her third goal in just two games. It was the first of three unanswered Army goals in the second half, as the Black Knights turned a tight, back-and-forth match into a comfortable win.
Sabrina Rogers doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, converting off a feed from Sophia Henry for her first goal of the season. Just four minutes later, Henry got on the scoresheet herself, finishing an assist from Grace Pohlidal to cap the scoring at 3-0. It marked the first goal of the season for Henry, a preseason all-conference selection, who also picked up an assist on Rogers' goal for a two-point day.Army controlled play throughout, out-shooting Vermont (0-3-1) 19-12 overall and 9-5 in the second half, while also owning a 4-0 edge in corner kicks. Karalyn Dail earned the shutout in net, making two saves to keep Vermont off the board.
The Black Knights got quality look after quality look before the breakthrough, rattling the woodwork twice — off a Bella Conti shot in the first half and a Rogers attempt in the second — before finally cashing in during the second-half surge.
With the win, Army improves to 2-2 on the young season, continuing to build depth and scoring contributions from multiple attackers at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field.
