Dylan Hoy
- Title:
- Assistant Baseball Coach
Army West Point baseball head coach Chris Tracz has announced Dylan Hoy as assistant coach.
Hoy comes to West Point from Louisville, where he spent the 2025 season with the Cardinals’ College World Series team as a graduate assistant.
Hoy worked at Louisville under Cardinals head coach Dan McDonnell and was part of a staff that led the ACC program to a 42-24 overall record and College World Series appearance, posting a 2-2 record in Omaha with wins over Arizona and Oregon State.
In his year at Louisville, Hoy assisted in implementing offensive strategies and worked directly with hitters. He also assisted closely in baserunning and saw the team steal a program-high 162 bases across the season.
Additionally, Hoy provided defensive coaching with a focus on infielder technique and consistency, while developing scouting reports and game plans by analyzing opposing teams.
In the 2025 postseason, the Cardinals upset No. 1-overall national seed Vanderbilt in their second Nashville Regional contest, before defeating Wright State in the regional final. One week later, Louisville returned home and knocked off Miami in the Louisville Super Regional, with a 3-2 win in the decisive Game 3 of the series to secure its spot in Omaha.
Hoy pivoted to coaching directly after finishing his playing career at Louisville, where he competed in 2024 as a graduate transfer. He served as team captain and played in 43 games, starting in 42 at second base, third base and shortstop. He finished the year batting .317 with five home runs and 30 RBIs.
Before transferring to Louisville, Hoy played four seasons at Marist, three of which under Tracz before the head coach took the same role at Army. In 2023, the infielder was named to the All-MAAC Preseason Team and the MAAC All-Academic Team. At Marist in 2024, Hoy tallied a .245 batting average, .381 on base percentage, four home runs and 19 RBIs.
Hoy won Marist’s James E. Pizzani Award, presented to a male and female who has contributed to the athletic department, both academically and socially, displaying community service and leadership, and has performed above and beyond all expectations.
Hoy is from Suffern, N.Y., where he attended Suffern High School. He currently lives in Monroe.
