Wrestling Set for NCAA Championships

PHILADELPHIA – Army West Point Wrestling is set for the 2024 NCAA Championships at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, March 20-22.

The seven wrestlers that Army features is tied for the second most the program has sent to an NCAA Championship, having most recently sent seven wrestlers to St. Louis in 2021.

125: Charles Farmer, No. 25
133: Ethan Berginc, No. 27
149: Trae McDaniel, No. 16
165: Gunner Filipowicz, No. 20
174: Dalton Harkins, No. 25
197: Wolfgang Frable, No. 32
285: Brady Colbert, No. 22

Berginc—a junior—is a three-time qualifier for Army. The sophomore Filipowicz heads to his second NCAA tournament. Farmer, McDaniel, Harkins, Frable and Colbert each are set to make their NCAA debut.

Three Black Knights qualified for the championships with automatic berths, clinched at the EIWA Championships March 7-8. Trae McDaniel won the 149 lb conference title, Farmer (2nd place), Harkins (3rdplace) and Colbert (3rd place) also securing automatic berths. Berginc (3rd place), Filipowicz (6th place) and Frable (5th place) each qualified as at-larges.

In the EIWA team score standings, Army finished in a tie for third place with Navy, at 116.5 team points. Drexel (122.5) finished in second place, and Lehigh (143.5) took first.Â

The Black Knights finished 8-3 overall in 2024-25 dual matches, with a 5-2 record against EIWA opponents. Army defeated Navy for the second consecutive season and the seventh time in 11 years.Â

A season ago, Ben Pasiuk became Army's first All-American since 2008, finishing eighth at 174 lbs.
