Baseball to Play Navy and Bucknell this Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. – A pivotal four games await Army West Point Baseball this weekend, with doubleheaders vs. Navy and Bucknell.

The Black Knights will see Navy for two games Friday and Bucknell for two games Saturday. Game 1 of both doubleheaders is set for 1:00 p.m. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

» Army is 15-5 in its past 20 games against Navy. Army has also won 19 of its past 26 games over Navy and Air Force, and has won by run rule in two of its past four games vs. Air Force.Â

A season ago, Army went 5-2 vs. Navy, which included a win in the three-game series at West Point April 26-28. Justin Lehman pitched a complete-game shutout in Game 1 of the series, with 129 pitches. Chris Barr walked off Navy in Game 3 to clinch a 7-6 game win and series win.

Army followed that regular season effort with a series win over Navy in the Patriot League Championship series, two games to none May 19-20.

» The Black Knights will take on Bucknell for a Saturday doubleheader, seeing the Bison for the first time since the 2024 Patriot League Semifinal Series.

In that series, the Black Knights recovered from a series hole, taking Games 2 & 3 of the series in a May 13 doubleheader sweep. Army came back from down 7-2 in the seventh inning in Game 2 to win 9-7, and rallied from 5-2 down in the eighth mere hours later to clinch the series with a 6-5 win.

» Lehman has proven his versatility this season, playing three positions, leading the starting rotation with a 3.37 ERA, and hitting his first home run of the season vs. Fairfield Wednesday.

» 2020 USMA graduate and baseball alum Jacob Hurtubise was named to the 2025 Cincinnati Reds opening day roster, becoming the first West Point alum to make an MLB opening day roster. He played 29 games with the club a season ago, making his debut May 13.

Hurtubise is the second member of the Long Gray Line to make the big leagues, behind Chris Rowley '13, who made his debut with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017.
