For the second time in three games, the Black Knights did get on the scoreboard first. Carter Hewitt knocked in William Parker and Chris Barr with a one-out RBI single in the opening inning. Army then added to its lead a stanza latter, on a Parker two-out double down the third base line that tucked in just fair to score Thomas Schreck from first base.Â
Â
Starting pitcher Trey Ates recorded a shutout inning in each of his first three innings pitched and recorded two strikeouts on the afternoon. He limited the damage in the fourth inning to just one run, left the game in the fifth, and recorded a no-decision on the afternoon.
