Baseball to Open League Semifinals vs. Holy Cross on Saturday; 5:00 PM Start Announced

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point baseball opens a new season on Saturday.

After capturing the 2026 Patriot League Regular Season Co-Championship last week and the No. 1 seed that comes with it, the Black Knights take on the Holy Cross Crusaders in the best of three Patriot League Semifinal Series.

Army finished 28-18 in the regular season and 17-9 in conference play, with two series wins vs. Navy, including in last week's regular season finale in Annapolis to secure the top seed.

All Patriot League Tournament games will be streamed on ESPN+. Saturday's series opener has been moved to 5:00 p.m., due to weather.

Sunday's game two and Monday's if-necessary game three are each set for 2:00 p.m. start times at Doubleday Field.

CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH
• Army opens the Patriot League Baseball Championships with a best of three series vs. Holy Cross in a rematch of the 2025 conference championship series.
• Holy Cross won that series two games to none at Fitton Field in Worcester, snapping Army's six-year reign as league champions.
• The Crusaders took five of six games off Army in the regular season this year. After Army dropped a March 13-15 series at home to open Patriot League play, Holy Cross won each game in the teams' three-game set in Worcester April 4-6.
• Army's March 14 win saw Kevin Reavey set career-highs in both innings pitched
(7.1) and strikeouts (8). He walked just one batter, giving up seven hits and a solo
homer for his only run allowed.
• Army clinched the No. 1 seed at the Patriot League Baseball Championships, with its series win at Navy on Sunday combined with a Bucknell loss to Lehigh in its series finale. The Black Knights and Bucknell have each been named Patriot League Regular Season Co-Champions.

• Seeking a top seed and home field advantage in the Patriot League Championships, Army defeated Navy in the final regular season series this past weekend, two games to one.
• After a 5-4 win in 13 innings on Saturday, the Black Knights recovered from a 7-4 defeat in Sunday's season-ending doubleheader daycap to win the finale 16-4 in seven innings, after taking a 7-0 lead in the opening frame thanks in part to a Jack Quinlan grand slam.
• Andrew Berg pitched nine innings in game one of the series, allowing just one earned run and recording six strikeouts. Josiah Overbeek pitched all four extra innings and claimed his fifth win of the year.
• Saturday's game was Army's longest in 2026 by innings played and the longest by innings in any Army game since a 16-inning affair against Siena on March 22, 2023.
• Sunday's run-rule win was Army's fourth this year.
• Army has won six of its past eight meetings vs. Navy and 21 of its past 31 dating back to 2022. The Black Knights have also won 26 of their past 39 games against academy rivals.
• Head coach Chris Tracz moved to 10-4 in extra innings game over his four-year Army tenure, including a 4-0 record against Navy in extras. Army is also 4-1 in 2026 in extra innings and 4-0 in Patriot League extra inning contests.
• The Black Knights improve to 140-138 in the all-time series vs. Navy.

RACKING UP THE HONORSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
• Josiah Overbeek was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year, with Thomas Schreck joining him as Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year.
• Schreck and Overbeek were also named to the First Team All-Patriot League team, as an infielder and in the at-large spot, respectively. Infielder Chris Barr was also named a first teamer.
• Starting pitcher Andrew Berg and outfielder William Parker each received Second Team All-Patriot League nods.
• Schreck was also named Academic All-Patriot League Baseball Team. An Applied Statistics and Data Science major at West Point, he will branch aviation after graduation.
